Sigurður Arnarson heldur fyrirlestur um peðakeðjur

Fyrsta fimmtudag í hverjum mánuði eru haldnir fræðslufyrirlestrar hjá Skákfélagi Akureyrar. Fyrsti fimmtudagur í apríl ber upp á sjöunda dag mánaðarins og þá mun Sigurður Arnarson fjalla um peðakeðjur, gagn þeirra og hvernig ráðast ber gegn þeim.

Í þessari umfjöllun verður að sjálfsögðu minnst á Aron Nimzowitsh sem hafði mikil áhrif á skilning manna á skák m.a. með útgáfu á bókinni My System árið 1925. Hann lagði áherslu á að ráðast gegn grunni peðakeðjunnar en sterkustu skákmenn nútímans ráðast einnig gegn fremsta hluta hennar ef það hentar betur.

Fyrirlesturinn er einkum byggður á bókunum Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy- Advances since Nimzowitsch eftir John Watson og Dynamic Pawn Play in Chess eftir Dražen Marović. Báðar bækurnar hefur Sigurbjörn Björnsson skákbóksali haft á boðstólum. Auk þess leitar Sigurður fanga hjá The Internet Chess Club (ICC) einkum í fyrirlestra IM John Watson´s sem bera heitið Beyond the Opening.

Fyrirlesturinn hefst kl. 20 og er aðgangur ókeypis og öllum heimill meðan húsrúm leyfir.
